Railway Contract Employees Salary 2023: If you are working as a contract/outsource employee in Railways or any railway department. The Hindustan Patna edition is published the dearness allowance of six lakh contract employees of Railways has been increased. It is further written in the news that the Railway Ministry has issued an order to increase dearness allowance after 6 years. Whose benefit will be available to six lakh contract workers working in Indian Railways and its various public undertakings. This will come into effect from 1 October 2023.

Further in the second paragraph it is written that after this increase, unskilled workers will get a remuneration of Rs 14,400 per month. The monthly earnings of the same highly skilled worker will be Rs 18870. A senior official of the Railway Board said that as of July 22, 2022, more than 5, 87, 968 contract workers are registered in the Railways. The number of sanctioned posts in Railways is 12.5 lakh. Contract employees are given PF and other facilities as per the permanent employees of Railways.

The above said news given above by Hindustan newspaper is quite old. The Dearness Allowance of is issued every six months by the Chief Labor Commissioner (Central) like contract employees working in all ministries/departments under the Government of India, including Railways. Whereas it was wrongly reported in the news that dearness allowance has increased after six years.

In fact, after Surjeet Shyamal’s PIL demand in the Delhi High Court, in 2017, the Government of India had increased the minimum salary of Central Government contract employees by 42 percent. The minimum wage rate at that time has been published by Hindustan newspaper to mislead the contract workers. Whereas the current minimum wage rate in the Central Sphere is much higher than this.
